Rescued from Mattakkuliya with sever constipation, Casper needed urgent surgery which was performed on Monday to ease his pain. He is now on the mend and finally able to eat and move without the severe pain that limited his movement before.
During surgery, the vets found stones, hair and other indigestible material in his stomach, which explains his constipation. Rescuers assume he was starving and ate whatever he could find. The surgery wound is healing well and Casper will be able to head back home in a few days where his rescuer has promised to make sure he receives food, water and some shelter from this point forward.
