2016 – A year of Compassion
Going into 2016, the Otara Foundation is looking to further its efforts to build a compassionate Sri Lanka. Last year we began collecting signatures to get the new Animal Welfare Bill passed in Parliament.
On the 14th of January 2016, the Bill was passed by Cabinet to go through to the legal draftsman. One small but vital step towards getting the legislation we need to protect our animals. The Bill will now be gazette and passed to parliament for multiple readings and debate. Throughout this process we need your help.
