Embark received a call in June, 2014 of a dog who was in danger of being shot in Kiribathgoda. He was growling at passersby and neighborhood dogs and had been beaten severely by the time we rescued him.
Kiri turned out to be a very old dog, set in his ways and confused at being dumped suddenly in the middle of the busy Kiribathgoda streets. Kiri had a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) when he was rescued and has continued to have trouble with it but with careful management he soon settled into foster care where we thought he would spend his final years.
In October 2015, Kiri surprised everyone by finding a home, over a year after he had been rescued. Kiri now lives happily with his family with regular visits from Embark in order to manage his condition.
